Reflections on 2013 – Maiden Voyage of Liner Notes Lounge

new-year-blue-guitar-illustration-34680838 It has been a privilege and a blessing to launch Liner Notes Lounge this year and share with you my love for music. After simply writing music-related posts for a few years, and with the help and support of fellow “musicologists,” I stepped into the world of podcasting. I’m still at the shallow end of the pool, but in September 2013, I built and decorated The Listening Suite – our podcast for your monthly taste of downtempo, chill, ambient, and soul music. So what’s in store for 2014? I will continue to bring independent music and artists to this forum, with more interviews and highlights of new music. I am grateful to Dan McCollum and Doug Ramsay of AfterSix Productions for joining Liner Notes Lounge and sharing a taste of their upcoming debut release, What Love Is, and we look forward to speaking with them again soon. Also coming back to the Lounge is vocalist Jua Howard, who will speak with us about his upcoming sophomore release. Look for the Lounge to expand as we bring in new artists to the family. The Listening Suite will continue to bring hand-picked selections, with more themed podcasts. Our first podcast of the year will be ready soon – and I guess I’ll let you in on the secret. I’ll be exploring tracks of the 2 step/UK Garage genre. Stay tuned. Thank you all for your support – thank you for reading and listening. Feel free to reach out to let us know what you think of The Liner Notes Lounge and The Listening Suite. Looking forward to another year of great music! Happy New Year!

  1. “CONGRATS” on successfully beginning the Liner Notes Lounge and then the Listening Suite. It was my honor to be a part of the Lounge and can’t wait to be interviewed again. The Listening Suite truly rocks. I learn about new music every time you post a new podcast. Keep doing great work and introducing people to quality music. Many blessings!
